The last week was spent reading through papers related to my project and then writing my proposal. This week I'm planning on working on my SIFT implementation which currently can find key points in an image, but now needs to match images.

When a churn analysis was carried out it was noted that TCP and UDP analyses had failed. Subsequent to this the UDP analysis was fixed using a planetlab switch, however this did not work for TCP. To fix this a traceroute program that works on planetlab was analysed and similar socket structure was applied to scamper. This is now in the process of testing.

Continued working on the latter part of implementing the Keystone identity service. It seems that there is something wrong with the permissions that have been granted to the Keystone user so I am in the process of re-configuring the Keystone database. I am also implementing a second IP address to try and get around the issues of having the IP and gateway on different subnets.

Rewrote portions of the AMP graphing from scratch to make sense of what it
was trying to do and now have a much better understanding of the flow of
data. Tracked down exactly how and why redundant data was being fetched,
this is now stored to be reused. Continued to simplify the internal graph
API, removing and merging functions that do almost identical work.
Had a good meeting with Brad and Shane to discuss how we should go about
structuring the interaction between the NNTSC backend and various graphing
frontends, such that we can reuse a lot of the elements.
Spent some time looking at RPMs and packaging AMP for centos. The hope is
for it to be easy to install and run on a perfsonar node alongside all the
other measurements. I've got the core of packages for the amplet client
and configuration building nicely, but still need to finish the little
bits that make the package install nicely (init scripts, man pages, etc).

Short week this week, as I spent Thursday and Friday in Wellington at the cricket.
Wrote an assignment on libtrace for 513, along with some "model" answers.
Continued reading and editing Meenakshee's report.
Had a vigorous discussion with Brendon about what he needs the NNTSC export protocol to do to support his AMP graphing needs. Turns out the protocol needs a couple of new features, namely binning/aggregation and a no-more-data indicator, which I started working on adding. So far, this has mostly involved taking some of the working code from my anomaly detector feeder program, which is an NNTSC client, and turning it into a NNTSC client API.
Put out a request to our past students for their Honours reports so that they can be published on the website. Thanks to those who have responded.

Spent the week fixing up chapters 2-5 and emailed Richard a copy on Friday night(including chapter 6). Didn't get to work on any new chapters during the weekend, had assignments to catch up on.
Plan for this week is to finish chapter 7 by Wednesday, and start on chapter 8 and 9.

Proposal was due this week.
so not much progress was made, majority of my time was put into writing my proposal. The other time I had, I used for finishing up assignments for other classes.
However in writing my report did manage to get a more concrete idea of how I want to proceed with my project and what it entails which is good.
