The ping program used is a modified version of the Berkeley version 1.22 ping, which is derived from software contributed to Berkeley by Mike Muuss. The original source code [4] comes with the package netkit-base-0.10 and was downloaded from the University of Waikato ftp site on August 12, 1998.
