Conclusions

Multiplexing HTTP over, standard window size, TCP connections between international proxies, offers significant performance advantages. The number of TCP connections between the proxies is important. To avoid the link being under utilised around 20 connections were required for an E3 connection from NZ to the US. However additional connections are needed if the best page latency is required. In this case around 50 connections were required.
